I was born to Dot (Dorothy) and Nick (Nicolai) Hansen in South Bergen County New Jersey (Hackensack Hospital) My sister and I, Dorothy (Dot) Torley, were raised and attended school in Clifton, NJ. Soon after High School I pursued a career as a bum, finally attaining the coveted “Shiftless” status. Finding I had nowhere to go from there I joined the Coast Guard. Serving for 7 years I became a bosun-mate. Among my duties were ocean search and rescue coxswain / crewman, bosun on a buoy tender, marine safety inspector where I was active in pollution response and inspection of vessels and hazardous material transfer facilities.

After meeting Joseph Lalli, DC who had cured my mother of a debilitating condition I developed an interest in chiropractic and decided to become a chiropractor. As I had been a lazy student previously I found myself battling through basic mathematics, organic chemistry, biology, psychology, physics and calculus in order to master the prerequisites to apply for chiropractic college. Using my GI education benefits, and living with my family while working nights and weekends I finally got accepted to National College of Chiropractic, Lombard, Ill. With the help of my first wife, Cindy, I graduated in 1992. Unfortunately the stress of my education made me arrogant and unfeeling - this destroyed my marriage and I was divorced.

After graduation I associated in Pekin, Ill. but soon found that, in spite of my accomplishments, my life lacked meaning. One Sunday afternoon on returning from a seminar in St. Louis I pulled off the road and asked God for help - I got it. In a flash life took on meaning and a “black cloud” was lifted so I could act like a human should. Within a month I met Janeece, now my Christian wife of 29 years. Within a year we were living back in New Jersey where I was working helping a medical doctor establish a primary care clinic in Jersey City, New Jersey. I had a brief association with a New Jersey chiropractor but applied for a position as staff doctor at Kentuckiana Children’s Center and got it - so off to Louisville we went.

After 2 1/2 years at Kentuckiana Children’s Center I bought a private office on the south side of Louisville, the “hometown of my heart”, where I practiced for 15 years. I later took an opportunity to also work as the chiropractor in a medical multi-disciplinary center along with operating my practice.

In 2012 Janeece and I decided that Janeece’s health would be best served by moving out of Louisville and coming to Florida. We chose Brevard County because Janeece has family on Merritt Island. Until 2017 I worked as a coverage doctor for various practices around central Florida. After meeting with John Adams, LMT I decided to rent space from The Fix. In 2019 I found I needed more space and visibility so I moved my practice to 1225 Suite F Florida Ave. Rockledge and practice the profession I loves as I feel it is meant to be practiced.
